What is Ferrous Chloride?
Ferrous Chloride is an acidic dark green liquid that is a by-product from steel pickling.
What does Ferrous chloride actually do?
The main uses for Ferrous chloride are to treat wastewater by removing phosphates, reducing hydrogen sulphide levels, sustaining healthy pH levels, removing pollutants, odour control and to promote coagulation and flocculation.
How can you tell the difference between poor and high quality Ferrous Chloride?
Poor quality ferrous is likely to have suspended solids in the liquid. When held up to the light good quality ferrous will be clear.
Why is ferrous chloride better than other iron-based chemicals?
Unlike alternatives, ferrous chloride is a solution (not a powder or salt) that can be inserted anywhere in the wastewater system. Due to this, there are multiple benefits such as; it prolongs the life of engine oil, reduces maintenance costs and prevents corrosion to CHP units. It’s non abrasive so it’s pump and pipework friendly and it won’t clog up dosing systems. It doesn’t depress the pH of wastewater which means no additional chemicals are required.
Why choose Servosol’s Ferrous Chloride?
Our sister company Servosteel use only the highest quality steel and raw materials in their processes. This ensures the pickle liquor (ferrous) has extremely low trace metal levels which way surpass the requirements set by the Environment Agency for drinking water. Furthermore, we are REACH approved and we filter our product to 200 microns which keeps iron particles to a minimum. Companies choose Servosol’s Ferrous Chloride to ensure their wastewater is returned to rivers responsibly, i.e. pollutant-free and environmentally friendly. Our independent lab test results prove that our chemical is the best in the UK Market.
Where do Servosol deliver?
Being based in the Midlands, we are ideally located to supply Ferrous Chloride throughout the UK, either in tanker loads or in IBCs via our partners. We used to supply the European market prior to Brexit and this is something we could re-examine depending on recipient’s requirements.
How much can we order per delivery?
Bulk loads are delivered in tankers and orders can be placed from between 20 to 28 tonnes. IBCs are always supplied in 1000 litre containers that are dropped off to site full and collected when empty on subsequent deliveries.
